LCL Pickup & Delivery

LCL freight. From destuff facility to final destination.

Pickup of less-than-container-load (LCL) freight at destuff and deconsolidation facilities once it is released, and delivery to its destination: a single skid, a few boxes or a part load.

Not every shipment fills a container. Whether it's a single skid or a stack of boxes, Kattz Logistics picks up less-than-container-load freight at the destuffing facility once it's released and delivers it to where it needs to go next.

When you need this

Not every shipment fills a container.

  • 01Your shipment came over as LCL, sharing a container with other people's freight, and it has been released at the destuffing or deconsolidation facility.
  • 02It's a skid, a few skids or a stack of boxes: too small for a container of its own, too important to leave sitting in a warehouse.
  • 03Your receiver needs a delivery day they can plan around.
  • 04You're an importer or a forwarder without a carrier lined up for the last leg.

How it works

From the first call to the last handoff

  1. Step 1

Tell us what's waiting and where

The facility, the release or reference number, how many pieces and roughly what they weigh. If you don't have all of it, send what you have.

  2. Step 2

We plan the pickup around the facility

Every destuff facility has its own hours and release process. We line the pickup up with them.

  3. Step 3

    We collect your freight

Once it's released, we pick it up from the facility: your skids or boxes, not the whole container.

  4. Step 4

    Delivered to the destination

We confirm the day with the receiver and deliver it the way they take freight.

For example

The size of shipment we mean

  • 1 skid. 150 kg.

Picked up at a destuff facility once it's released, and delivered to the receiver.

  • 29 boxes. 400 kg.

Picked up at a destuff facility once it's released, and delivered to the receiver.

Big shipment or small, we'll help coordinate the next move.

What you get

What changes for you

  • A small shipment planned as carefully as a full container.
  • A pickup lined up with the facility's hours and release.
  • Delivery confirmed with the receiver before the truck leaves.
  • One contact from the destuff facility to the door.

FAQ

Questions about this service

What is LCL freight?

LCL stands for less than container load. Freight from several shippers shares one ocean container; when it arrives, the container is unloaded (destuffed) at a deconsolidation facility and each shipment is released on its own. Kattz picks up your part and delivers it.

Is my shipment too small?

Probably not. A single skid or a few boxes is exactly the kind of shipment we mean: one skid at 150 kg, or 29 boxes at 400 kg. Tell us how many pieces and what they weigh, and we'll tell you how it moves.

How is this different from transloading?

Transloading moves a load from one piece of equipment to another, usually a container's worth onto a trailer. LCL delivery starts after destuffing: your shipment, released on its own at the facility, picked up and delivered. If your freight needs a transload instead, we do that too.

Do you run the destuff facility?

No. Destuffing and deconsolidation happen at the facility your shipment is released from. Kattz picks the freight up there once it's released and delivers it.

What do you need for an LCL rate?

Where it is (the facility), the release or reference number if you have it, how many skids or boxes, roughly what it weighs, where it's going and when. If you don't have all of it, send what you have.
